Where it all began
Transport yourself to the Gold Coast. It’s 1970, and the holiday destination is a fraction of the size of what it is now. The sandy beaches stretch along the coast, and to the west, the hinterland’s rolling hills and lush plant life sprawl.
Locals Bob and Caryl had a vision, and when they identified a gap in the automotive marketplace, they jumped. At the time, there were no options for high-quality yet affordable vehicle accessories, so the pair established Bocar.
The company grew fast, and soon, it expanded its engineering capabilities to leverage the era’s cutting-edge technology.
The journey
Bocar evolved into a pioneering manufacturer of quality, heavy-duty ute trays, black steel bull bars, and auto gear and accessories. Importantly, Bocar’s growing product range is designed, engineered, and tested right here in Australia. It was important to Bob and Caryl for their products to be tough enough to withstand harsh Aussie conditions.
In 2018, Bocar was acquired and joined the Aeroklas Australia family. However, the brand stays true to its origins, and the acquisition has enabled Bocar to reach new audiences across the trade industry. The Aeroklas Australia head office is situated in Brendale, Queensland, a suburb of the Moreton Bay region just north of the state’s capital, Brisbane. The Brendale HQ is one of three primary distribution centres dotted across the nation.
